Nodebook Privacy Policy

Last Updated: 27 October 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Dijets Inc. Ltd (“we”, “our”, “us”) handles your data when you use Nodebook, the Dijets wallet browser extension (the “Extension”).

Nodebook is a self-custody wallet: your keys are created, encrypted and kept on your own device, and you don’t create an account with us. Most of what Nodebook stores never reaches us. For the limited data that does, described below, we are the “data controller” for the purposes of the UK General Data Protection Regulation (“UK GDPR”) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

In short:

  • Your recovery phrases, private keys and password never leave your device. We can’t see them and can’t recover them.
  • Nodebook has no analytics, tracking, advertising or crash reporting.
  • It talks only to the Dijets network node you choose, to read balances and send the transactions you sign.
  • Websites get nothing unless you approve them, and you can disconnect them at any time.
  • We do not sell your data.

1. What Data We Collect

  • Data that stays on your device

Nodebook keeps the following in your browser’s extension storage. None of it is sent to us or anyone else.

    • Your recovery phrases and private keys, encrypted (see Section 7). Your password itself is never stored.
    • Your accounts: the names you give them and their public addresses.
    • Settings: the network and node you use, auto-lock time and display choices.
    • Addresses and names you add to your watchlist.
    • The websites you have connected, and which account each one uses.
    • A local history of the transactions you sent and of your balance, used to show your activity and performance.
  • Data sent to the Dijets network node

A wallet has to ask the network for balances and submit transactions. Nodebook connects to one node and its explorer: by default the Dijets Mainnet node operated by us, or any node you enter in Settings. It sends that node:

    • Your public wallet addresses, to read balances, history, names and Arcs.
    • The signed transactions you approve, to put them on the network.
    • Like any web server, the node also receives technical details of each request, such as your IP address and the time of the request.

If you choose a node run by someone else, that operator receives this data instead of us, and its own privacy practices apply.

  • Blockchain information

    • Transactions on the Dijets network, including the addresses involved, amounts and registered names, are recorded on the public blockchain.
    • This data is publicly available and permanent, and outside our control: neither we nor anyone else can change or delete it.

We do not collect your name, email address or contact details through the Extension, and we do not knowingly collect special categories of personal data (e.g. health information, political beliefs).

2. How We Use Your Data

We use the data our node receives only for the following purposes:

  • To provide the Extension’s wallet functions: showing your balances and history, and submitting the transactions you sign.
  • To keep the network and our services running, and to detect, prevent and address abuse or security issues.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

We will only use your personal data where we have a lawful basis under UK GDPR, namely:

  • Contract (providing the wallet functions you asked for).
  • Legal obligation (where the law requires us to keep or disclose information).
  • Our legitimate interests (keeping the network and our services secure and working).

We do not use your data for marketing, profiling, advertising, credit or lending decisions, or any purpose unrelated to the wallet.

3. Sharing Your Data

We do not sell, rent or trade your data. Your data may be shared with:

  • Websites you connect. Websites such as Dijets Names and Arc Studio can ask to connect to Nodebook or to have something signed. Every request opens an approval window, and a website you haven’t approved receives nothing. A connected website receives the account’s public addresses on the V-, M- and U-Chains, its Dijets name if it has one, the list of the account’s addresses so it can show your balance, and signatures for the messages and transactions you approve, one by one. It never receives your keys, recovery phrase or password. What a website does with this information is governed by its own policy. You can disconnect a website in Nodebook’s Settings under Connected sites.
  • The public blockchain, when you send a transaction (see Section 1).
  • Service providers who host our node and infrastructure (e.g. cloud hosting).
  • Professional advisers (e.g. lawyers, auditors).
  • Regulators or law enforcement if required by law.
  • In connection with business changes (e.g. merger, acquisition, restructuring).

Where we transfer personal data outside the UK, we ensure adequate safeguards are in place (such as the UK’s International Data Transfer Agreement or standard contractual clauses).

4. How Long We Keep Your Data

  • Data on your device stays there until you delete it. Remove wallet from this browser in Nodebook’s Settings, or uninstalling the Extension, deletes all of it.
  • Request records on our node (such as IP addresses and request times) are kept only as long as needed to run and secure the service, and are then deleted or anonymised.
  • Data on the blockchain is permanent and cannot be deleted by anyone.

Deleting Nodebook does not affect your funds: they stay on the network, and your recovery phrases or keys open them again in any compatible wallet. Keep them safe. If you lose them, we cannot restore your access.

5. Your Rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the following rights:

  • Access – request a copy of your personal data.
  • Correction – ask us to fix inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Erasure – ask us to delete your data (subject to legal obligations).
  • Restriction – ask us to limit processing of your data.
  • Portability – request your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
  • Objection – object to processing based on legitimate interests.
  • Withdraw consent – where processing is based on consent.

Because we hold no account or profile about you, the only personal data we may hold is the node request records described in Section 1. Data on your device is fully under your control, and data on the blockchain cannot be changed or deleted by us.

To exercise your rights, contact us at support@dijets.io. We may need to verify your identity before responding.

If you are unhappy with how we use your data, you can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO): https://ico.org.uk.

6. Cookies and Tracking

Nodebook does not use cookies, analytics, telemetry, crash reporting, advertising or third-party trackers.

It does not read the content of the web pages you visit or your browsing history, and it does not load code from the internet: everything it runs is in the package you install.

7. Security

We designed Nodebook so that your keys are protected on your device:

  • Recovery phrases and private keys are encrypted with AES-256-GCM, under a key derived from your password (PBKDF2-SHA-256, 600,000 iterations).
  • While the wallet is unlocked, the unlock key is held in session memory only, and is cleared when Nodebook locks or the browser closes.
  • Nodebook locks itself after the period of inactivity you choose.

However, no method of storage or transmission is completely secure. You are responsible for keeping your password, recovery phrases and device safe, and you use the Extension at your own risk.

8. Browser Permissions

Nodebook asks your browser for the following permissions, and uses each only for the purpose shown:

  • Storage – keeps your encrypted keys, settings and the other data in Section 1 on your device.
  • Side panel – shows Nodebook beside the page you’re on.
  • Alarms – locks the wallet after the period of inactivity you choose.
  • Access to the Dijets node – reads balances and submits your transactions. Access to another node is requested only when you enter one.
  • Runs on websites – makes window.nodebook available, so a website can ask you to connect or sign. It only passes on requests the website makes, and reads nothing from the page.

9. Children’s Data

The Extension is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe we have done so, please contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we change how Nodebook handles data, we will post the update on this page with a new “Last Updated” date before the change is released.
